The suction provided by both are very similar. Portable vacuums are now rated at close to 10,000cfm‘s. Some older truck mounts however can be rated at less than 5100cfm’s. We use the latest equipment giving you the strongest air movement possible. One other advantage to a portable system is that we can bring the vacuum right to the furnace, therefore less suction is lost due to the distance travelled.
Unfortunately there are a lot of fly by night companies out there. They tend to blitz local social media sites with offers of low cost services. These outfits tend to show up with a cheap system, and do a third rate job of cleaning your ducts. Some even pretend to have professional system when they don’t. Some don’t even make access holes to get to your entire venting system. These scammers can get away with poor workmanship as they are usually just passing through your area. They are not an available and transparent part of the local community. Some don’t even have a name, logo or trained technicians. They have no other online presence, reviews or comeback if you are unhappy with their service. For piece of mind, use a local company. One that you see around town regularly and that has a company decal on the vehicle. Get recommendations from people you know and trust.
There are a few points to remember when choosing a company. Will they quote you a firm price based on certain factors before starting the work? Did you call 3 separate companies to get quotes for the same work? Does the company have a sales centre that also has to be paid for? Are the technicians paid a commission? Be careful of ultra low cost quotes that are for a bare minimum of work. Check what the final cost will be. Don’t ever pay upfront.
In general, it is recommend to have them cleaned every 3 years. This can depend on individual circumstances such as extra busy households, pets, regions, allergies etc.
A typical single family home will take approx 3 hours. We use no harmful chemicals in our process therefore it is perfectly safe for you and your pets to be in the home during the cleaning.
